3 Ways Successful Founders Use to Grow their Companies

Having your own company is impressive, yet it comes with lots of responsibilities. As the leader of the company in question, the burden of profits and net growth falls under you. The best ideas of growing your company should come from your deciding or from your trusted team or board, which means you need to stop and think, at your desk or preferred workplace, and find the best ideas to succeed. There are many factors to consider, but let’s focus on three significant ways to succeed as a business, and they are applicable to many different types of companies, universal rules if you will.

 Culture

First, when you, the boss, start the company from scratch, you need a community with a culture. This requires the proper staff and team members to all work together and get along, with a shared culture. Remember this notion as a founder; create a company culture. The main question here is ‘who’ you are, as a company, not just ‘what’ you do. The company culture is not only important for the employees themselves, but for clients and visitors who witness the dynamics of the company and its community, emphasized by culture. People, especially customers, want to know how you stand out from other companies in the line of work, and your unique culture catches their attention. The first step in creating a company culture is not through just one department, but with all employees. The culture should be relevant to the company’s line of work, a relaxed culture if it is a entertainment-oriented company or a serious but friendly culture if it is more financially oriented. The culture is up to you, as the leader, to define it and promote it through your staff of workers, who in turn will practice it. This culture can have a fun tone to it, like every morning, a joke is announced through the speakers to lighten the mood. It is important to note that you should acknowledge the workers, both new and current, as the representatives of your company, and how the public views it, based on the culture.

Uncomfortable but Successful

As mentioned earlier, running a company can be stressful, but maintaining your cool demeanor as the leader is important. There are certain instances when you feel overwhelmed or singled-out; say you are the leader of a publishing house, and are socializing with a group of other publishers. You find out your company made the least amount of revenue last year, even though it was just founded. However, you can reply by stating it is an opportunity to reassess your conduct and speak with your talent agents in encouraging more authors to work with your company, as you are the fresh face in the business. Don’t take it as criticism, but rather a chance to show how you deal with sluggish work process, and that is through a calm stance. The calmer you act, the better it shows your stamina and maturity. Another instance is when you are working or mingling with a specific person you know but despise and this can create tension for you. However, as the leader, you know not to let your personal feelings get in the way of your profession, even if you completely disagree with that person’s beliefs and actions. This level of maturity and sensibility is sure to impact your company’s growth positively, and your attitude should rub onto your workers, as they learn from your level of calmness. This is a true way of how a company grows, even when they encounter hardship and criticism, yet continue to work and thrive.

Customer Relations

In the capitalist economy, it is of great importance to remember your customers and how you communicate with them. This is crucial to maintaining growth with your company, as most business require customers and clients to purchase/invest in the products and services you offer. How you would approach a potential customer needs to be planned ahead, and emphasized with great care. After all, without good customer relations, your company will flounder. It is the basis universally acknowledged and that is why you, as the leader, need to work on with your employees, especially your public relations department. You can conduct weekly board meetings with the departments that are most active in customer relations, and find out the best techniques to get more customers.

After acknowledging these successful ways of growing your company, you will hopefully apply them as best as you can. And remember, we always learning and growing our character.
