Fred and Janet Cox founded Liquid Green Products when they couldn’t find laundry detergent that didn’t irritate their kids’ allergies. They started looking for something less abrasive to the skin, which started them on their journey producing non-toxic cleaning products. Now, they have a pet product line, a plant line, as well as industrial, commercial, and residential lines. All of their products are pet- and child-friendly, with zero toxins. The Coxes shared about Liquid Green Products and their future plans.
What is the process of making Liquid Green Products?
Fred: The process is very complicated, and we have a company that does that for us. It’s a very technical extraction of the content that can make soap and still be non-toxic and anti-fungal and have antibacterial properties from plants. They use something called nanotechnology to do the extraction. It’s different from the way things are extracted normally. And what we get from them is superior to what’s on the market.
How are your products different from all these other green products?
Fred: Our products are different in both quality and efficacy. We consider our product to be the Bentley of cleaning products. It is carcinogen-free, meaning it has absolutely no cancer-causing ingredients. If you are someone that has sensitive skin, or you have pets who like to lick the ground when it’s clean, they can safely do that.
Our products are not harmful if a kid were to accidentally swallow our product. All you need to do is to drink more water to flush it out. There are no hazards. No toxic residue is left once you clean your area. With a lot of the other products out there, I refer to them as spray and run. When you spray it in your bathroom, you have to open the windows or open the door or get out of the room completely. You don’t have that with our products.
When did you start The Health Show and what do you hope to accomplish with it?
Janet: We started [it] in January 2022, so it’s almost coming up to a year’s anniversary. We have grown significantly from 400 at our first show to several thousand currently. We started as an extension to the business that we were doing with the Liquid Green products. The idea was to promote Liquid Green products, but what we found is that you can’t talk about cleaning products all the time. So, it just naturally morphed into everything to do with health. We’re really pleased with the success of the Liquid Green Health Show because we have engaging customers and we’ve been able to add different products to our website. Now we can offer an entire holistic line to our customers.
Fred: Though we have been told a lot of times by our producers [to not] expect a steady growth, every week we see a substantial growth from our listenership. We have loyal followers as well as new ones every week.
Do you have any other products or are you planning on expanding?
Janet: We have a new product. It’s a more concentrated Liquid Green extract that we’re hoping to launch soon. In the new year, we will be coming out with a children’s line, which is exciting. And with some of these products, children will be able to help with the cleaning.
Fred: It’s going to be fragrance-free. Our products are already children- and pet-friendly, but it’s going to be geared towards encouraging kids to be a little more hygienically responsible.
Janet: Right, because our kids are the ones [living] with the new reality. They’re the ones that are going to need to learn how to live with COVID. We will also have books to go with the new line to encourage kids — something that we’ll be able to introduce into the school system. As a company, we want to continue to provide quality products that are safe for people, safe for pets, and safe for our planet.
